When I first got this album and researched the band a little bit, I thought that this might just be another hardcore/metal act that would sound just like every other one and be mediocre at best. But this band was amazing and this album was epic. The thing that really caught me was that every song was very listenable; everyone knows that some albums have awesome songs and some you skip over. This is a full listen album. Every track is unique has something great to offer. Brutal metal, melodious hardcore, and a great mix of throaty vocals and clean singing, that's what best describes this album.
The Destiny Program are from Germany, but there is not hint of it from their music. The vocals and lyrics are both intellectual and relevant and have a strong staying power. The guitar work is very good and the drums only add to the great sound of the music. The Destiny Program is a great example of many talented musicians in one band making great music. The way that this album really stands out is how some of the songs seem to go in directions you didn't expect, and that is why the album itself has such a great whole quality.
This band sounds like they would really have some power for a live show, and I guess that's why it will only get 4 stars; despite having very good songs all-around, there seems to be a bit lacking in the pure energy and power department, which is something they would most likely amp up in a performance atmosphere. Only problem is that this German band doesn't make too many frequent USA trips, so hopefully the next time they come, you can catch them because I'm guessing it would be quite a hardcore experience.
