The only criticism of the Punk-O-Rama series is lack of unreleased tracks. It's always nice to hear bands play songs that not a lot of people have heard, but the tracks on Punk-O-Rama 7 make up for the early disappointment.
Highlights:
Millencolin "Fingers Crossed" What can you say? This is Milencollin at their best and the song can be heard on their latest release "Home From Home".
The International Noise Conspiracy "Up For Sale" Epitaph really started the re-birth of the old school rock 'n roll sound with the signing of these guys. It features the trademark sound we've all come to love about this band, and can be found on the album "A New Morning, Changing Weather".
Division of Laura Lee "Black City" Epitaph's newest signing D.O.L.L. features a unique garage based punk sound which was formed in their home country of Sweden. When listening to Divison of Laura Lee, The Hives and Int'l. Noise Conspiracy definately come to mind. Their Epitaph debut "Black City" will be released in August.
NOFX "Olympia, WA" What can one say about this song, and this band, and the band this band is covering. NOFX playing Rancid's classic "Olympia, WA" is the only way to sum this one up. It's from the very popular NOFX/Rancid split released this year on BYO Records.
Rancid "Bob" What can on say about this song, and this band, and the band this band is covering hehehehe! Rancid wrips the shit out of the NOFX anthem "Bob". Like NOFX's cover of Rancid, this track can be found on the NOFX/Rancid split released this year on BYO Records.
Guttermouth "My Girlfriend" For all those emo boys with girl problems give this one a listen. This song is NOT from the album "Covered With Ants".
Lowlights:
NONE! Good job Epitaph.
(Timmy)
