Sometimes you wake up and you know it's going to be a savage morning. It might be drunken sodomy with your partner at 6am. It might be a 9am fast food combo with 2 cups of coffee and a pack of cigarettes. It might even be a wake and bake at noon with a couple of beers. Whatever it is, it is savage and sometimes it just happens. What is your music of choice? Eyehategod is perfect. Brutal Truth works well too. Celtic Frost is for a true savage as well. But one choice of music that does not work is The Agonist and their album Once Only Imagined. There is nothing savage here, just a second rate Arch Enemy. We're supposed to wet ourselves that there is another female-fronted thrash band out there? Wow. Let me calm down just a bit from the awesome concept that is a female singer for a metal band. It is so intense. The Agonist is simply a step heavier for the H.I.M. kids. The band's rehashed Killswitch-Swedecore riffage is nothing original, dark, or savage. The Mall-Metal kids will love it. Go buy it and play it when you are home alone on a Friday night. Then grow some pubes and buy Behemoth albums. Christ. I'm going back to bed.
