One thing that a lot of heavy bands try to do, but fail to do, is have a truly complete album that can keep any listener interested and entertained throughout. With their new album, The Warriors seemed to have accomplished that. A truly strong effort, Genuine Sense Of Outrage really starts hard and continues to kick your ass until the last track ends. A brilliant fusion of brutal metal, elaborate hardcore, and fist-pounding punk is what this album contains.
Each track has a slightly different feel to it while still maintaining a solid sound. The album strays from the now somewhat typical "play it really, really fast" metal to a very technical and very well composed metal that makes each part stick out and flow, helping to create a unique and distinct sound that shows true progression in the metal/punk genre that is around today. Tracks such as "Genuine Sense Of Outrage," "Odium Vice" and "Belly" really show dynamic aspects of the album with respect to songwriting and song composition.
If there is anything that holds this record back at all, it's that the vocals sometimes seem crowded and run over some parts of the songs, almost as if there were too many lyric lines but they still tried to fit them in. At some points, the vocals need to break so the music can either slow things down or set the pace, but the vocals usually end up just dominating nearly every part of the song.
Overall, this is a very strong album from start to finish and would be a good addition to any hardcore or metal collection. It's a refreshing and rewarding record that can quickly become a new favorite. Definitely pick it up if you can and try to check them out the next time they swing through your town because you will definitely be in for a fun show.

totally forgot about CBK, and they're in my running for record of the year! but i was speaking more about the recent bands anyway, and the general lack of consistency from the newer bands they sign. i guess Bayside could be in the good group as well; i've liked their progression and the last two albums were pretty good. As for victory...Snapcase, Boysetsfire, Comeback Kid, Darkest Hour and as you say btbam are just a few of the quality bands thats been released by that label! its just recent years its turned to crap Aug 30, 2007
and do you for some reason think that i love victory records or something? the only bands on that label that consistently put out stellar albums are darkest hour and btbam. Aug 30, 2007
