The first question that came to my mind before I listened to this album was, “is there going to be a language barrier that lessens the impact of the music?” Answer: No. Despite being mainly Spanish with some English singing as well, the band is able to illustrate how punk is universal and that no matter what language you use to convey your message, it will always be heard.
The album starts with a swift kick to the ears with the song “Reject/Refuse,” a mainly English track. The music itself is dynamite, with catchy, fast-paced guitars, fairly technical bass, and a horn section that adds a fuller sound to all the songs. The album starts fast and never slows down as tracks like “Plebe Por Vida” and "”Pinches Fronteras” really stand out as songs that can appease any true fan of punk rock music.
The album ends with the somewhat comedic song, “S.O.B.,” and leaves the listener not only entertained, but also now hooked on Spanish punk rock. This album is unique in that every song has enough musical strength to keep the listener interested. This isn't one of those albums in which you have your couple favorite songs and the rest are either skipped or mildly ignored. Each track comes at you hard and reminds you of when punk music was fun and the best thing to do was go to a show and just mosh for the hell of it. No make-up, no choreographed dance moves, just power chords, two and a half minutes, and a circle pit.
This album is bilingual, but the messages within the album speak to everyone. This is a prime choice for anyone who enjoys punk rock or just good music in general.
