Once again Sweden has produced another offspring who is on their way to a successful career in punk rock. The Hives, The Hellacopters, The (International) Noise Conspiracy, and Randy are all successful offspring just to name a few. Now add Division of Laura Lee to the mix and you yet again have a diverse group of rock 'n rollers belting out a sound hardly found on the left side of the ocean. Not one song on "BlackCity" sounds the same, and the band divulges into punk in a way similar to early At The Drive In. At times they can be heard experimenting with the garage-esque sounds with an energy that will keep you wondering how they do it. By far the opening track "Need To Get Some" is not only the premier track of the album, but also makes me want to go out and get some. Before I do I just wanted to reiterate this is a sound you probably won't hear for the rest of 2002, so get your hands on it damnit.
