There is one shining highlight though, on an otherwise repetitive meatheaded beatdown of an album: a joke(?) song “We Hate,” whose chorus is thus - “We hate your music/ we hate you too/ We have our reasons/ for what we do./ You cannot hide/ You stupid fucks/ we really think- your music sucks!” As a humorous self-aware reference to their own closed-mindedness, this song is brilliant; perfectly parodying the insular Ozzfest mentality. If the tone is supposed to be one of seriousness however, then a new low has been reached.
Sworn Enemy: recently ex-major label, obliquely Christian-agenda pushing, reactionist post-9/11 pro-war Americans. They are also great for homophobic quotes such as this from asice.net’s SE interview: “Paul: Nothing gay or fag shit, we play real music.” Sound like people you want over for dinner? Yeah, me neither. I never want to hear this again. And one more thing: “I really think - your music sucks.”
