One lesson that we do learn with this album is that if we take a whole bunch of Saves The Day albums, re-write the lyrics making sure to use the same metaphors, learn all the guitar parts and add some back up screams that can be learned via the internet, we can all get signed and be famous! Then, if we take pictures of ourselves in orange jumpsuits tied to trees, we will look like total rock stars. Honestly people, if you’re not sick of emo poster boys already, you’re just plain sick.
Standout tracks? None of them stand out, but for the readers’ sake, we’ll say that “Rum Is For Drinking, Not For Burning,” is the least vocally spastic and “Slow Dance” sounds like a vomiting hippopotamus. Actually, I’m not sure what that would really sound like, but it looked funny to write. Every song on this record features unpolished emo melodies, occasional screamage and all your favorite guitar parts previously played by Finch, Brand New and Taking Back Sunday. Cool, right? And if that’s not enough, there’s a DVD! Completely redundant and not at all useful in extended anyone’s music collection.
