To begin with, thank you Fat Wreck for putting on this record and spoon feeding your listeners thirty four songs that span almost two decades including some of the most vital Screeching Weasel number to date while also throwing in a few surprises to mix it up a bit. Who can live without “Hey Suburbia” or “Supermarket Fantasy” from BoogadaBoogadaBoogada or “I Wanna Be a Homosexual” from Kill The Musicians. “Phasers On Kill” and “Cool Kids” are two of the featured tracks from Bark Like A Dog alongside “Bottom of The 9th” and “You’re The Enemy” from Teen Punks In Heat. Basically, there is representation from all Screeching Weasel relases.
Take a quick gander inside the cover and you’ll have the chance to read some glorifying testimonials about the band which also features a little history. This is complemented by a myriad of photos put together scrapbook style that represent all the years of Weasel.
Honestly, I haven’t smiled so much while listening to a CD since Punk decided to go 80’s on Fearless Records or a whole bunch of bands made a silly little tribute to The Police. There’s not much to be said about this record except that if you’ve never been introduced to them in your life (and you’re reading punkbands.com?), let this record be the one to do it. Everyone needs a little punk rock every once in a while and don’t say that’s not true because I see you nodding your head while humming your favourite Screeching Weasel ditty.
