Their songs are heartfelt, full of generic metaphors and basically unimpressive. There are two instrumental tracks on this album which are probably the most defining feature. The songs themselves however are lacking in many areas and almost seem like they were written and no one could think of lyrics for them so they just threw them on the album anyway. This band should be grouped into a category of basically every band that aspires to be famous like My Chemical Romance. How the hell did that even happen, anyway?
The guitars/bass/drums on “Drive To Nowhere: Verity’s Novel” are pretty much the result of someone taking a couple years of guitar lessons and deciding to form a band because everyone else whose cool is in one. I’m not saying that’s the case here, I’m just being facetious. I don’t doubt that these individuals look at music with idolatry, and they can play well enough to make some good songs that sound like a million other songs with no real flaws but no real interesting features either, but their music is just not altogether anything to write home about. Or to write about in general. I must say, the cover art is beguiling due to its striking allure.
