For a group that formed a decade ago, these guys sure as hell lack maturity and musical accomplishment. The lyrics are shallow and empty, going right into one ear and out the other without a care in the world. I can’t see how this group holds their faith in God to be so important to them, yet they can ’t even write a decent song about it. “Heaven” and “Look To The Stars” are religious pieces that demand respect in their serious nature but at the same time are hideously annoying. Their unoriginality is painful and their redundancies seriously agitating. I can’t pick out a single track that stands out as impressive but maybe its just the whiteness of those teeth that’s getting to me so much. Nah, it’s the music.
The band has been compared to Blink 182 and Relient K. I will go so far as to compare them to what The Backstreet Boys would sound like if they played guitars and wrote their own music. Alright, that was harsh. All I’m trying to say is that there’s nothing remotely interesting about this album and I wouldn’t waste my time.
