This is terrifying. The movie becomes nerve wracking as you sit there wondering if, holy shit what it?!?, Against Me! signed to Universal? I won’t give away the ending, but suffice to say, it is a happy one. All this boring chit chat is interspersed with great music culled from all their shows (and all their albums), lots of boozing, and one or two outrageous pranks. The best is when Tom locks Taking Back Sunday in their dressing room at Skate and Surf and then just laughs about it. Amazing cinema by any standards. Hell, this is better than the last movie I saw in the theaters (I’m looking at you Seed of Chucky).
Plus, with this being a DVD and all, there are ever so entertaining “Bonus Features.” These include a drinking game which gets you drunk way too fast, some gorgeous B&W and color photos, some extra song performances, and video of “raw dog.” Enough said. We wanted a band that played loud and hard every night, and that band was Against Me!
