Holland's Maybee are well on their way to become one of the better punk rock bands of The Netherlands. Founded only two years ago (by core-members Remco and Luke), they already released a six-song EP and now this single. While their first EP wasn't exactly a showcase of extraordinary talent, "Maybee, MI" is really something else. The band has progressed a lot, mainly due their determination to become Holland's no.1 punkrock band. They start off with "Belong", a catchy and fast song in the vein of bands like (old) Ataris and Useless ID. Original? No. Good? Yes. All bandmembers sing on this song, which is nice for diversity. The second song (Maybee, MI) is also a winner. A lot slower than "Belong" it really shows a different side of the band, kinda reminding me somewhat of one of the slower NOFX songs mixed with an Undeclinable song. Mind you, that's a good thing. All in all you could say that if you like a band with great songs influenced by the likes of Millencolin, Ataris and Thursday, then this band is for you. Both songs are available for free in mp3-format on the website (http://www.maybee.org/).
