So after all of this TV teen comedy drama, that is referring to all of the drama that the band went through in the whole "The singer was dating the guitarist's sister and he fucked her over so the guitarist quit" or whatever happened causing the dude to quit the band. I'll admit it, "Tell All Your Friends" wasn't as bad as Yellowcard or Simple Plan or even Good Charlotte. For some reason they seemed like something more than a novelty act like the bands listed. I don't know why, yeah, curse me for thinking that because guess what, every teenager with absolutely no taste in music and the absolute love of the punk/emo scenester politics game loves this band to death. So instead of hanging it up which would have been the smart thing to do, they made another record with some other dude that doesn't to the rad complimentary backup vocals. I just noticed how much this sounds like Dashboard Confessional. Jesus Christ all of these bands are blending together like a corporation I swear! Before we know it it will be one giant crybaby band with like, 35 members putting the Polyphonic Spree to shame!
Progress? What progress? The band has done nothing but make a weaker version of their first album, one commonplace song after the next. Nothing stands out, it's one big blur of wah wah wah. Oh well, at least I don't have to deal with this on a daily basis. But this is what I'll call my review of the new Taking Back Sunday album. But really, what could one expect? It's just bad music and I'm sure most of you reading this are smart enough to avoid it anyway rendering this little pseudo-rant el pointless. Later Gator (guest review: Ian from punkunited.com).
