The pulse pumps faster and faster, throbbing, aching, expiring. Passion explodes from a cascade of gravelly voiced syllables, constructing words and sentences to fit in stanza and paragraph, slim on metaphor and literary trickery and sloppily harsh with pointed imagery and the narrative of reality. Each song builds itself slowly, simple guitar riffs blend and reinforce eachother while the drums unhurriedly become more and more dense with times progression, until bursting into a frantic blast of power chords and cymbals, only to retire again and rebuild. I love this band. They manage to create something that is unmistakably their own, with pointed, heartfelt lyrics which are extremely well-written. Live, often the only intro would be “this is another song about fucking.” Somehow they manage to bring to a punk rock/hardcore genre what very few bands have been able to do without falling back on trite humor or evasive metaphors: they address sex head on and build their songs accordingly. They know how to layer their songs, actually developing them completely through with perfect transitions and tempo that gives it a very smooth feel, even though the sound seems somewhat rough.  the cd is a total experience, each song flowing into the next one without becoming boring. I am very impressed and highly recommend this cd and heavily recommend catching them live if you can because their show is incredible.
