These guys are heavy metal for sure. All the songs on this album are really heavy, with thick guitars, pulsing double-bass drumming, and guttural screaming vocals. And they do it pretty damn well. Everything is tightly put together, the songs are well-structured and keep from being boring, and its pretty obvious that they know how to do the music they play. A couple things that turned me off are the really generic lyrics which, although they aren’t really distinguishable in the songs, tend to be really cliché angry-death stuff, which is well and good if its well written, but come off very unpersuasive. The songs for the most part run from a Slayer sound to more of a Pantera mixed in with a little Dillinger Escape Plan once in a while. The best thing about this cd are the breakdowns, which are crushingly thick and I can just visualize kids going crazy at shows. Metal fans will definitely like this, hardcore fans definitely, emo kids—maybe not.  if you are into heavier music, pick this up.
