I'm going to have to agree with the Alternative Press review of Hatebreed's newest raging album and give it a perfect score. It was only recently that I began opening up to the hardcore/metal world, and it's solid albums like "The Age..." that have made my ears perk. The opening drum roll on "Tear It Down" opens up the disc, and is the first sign of the tracks of demolition to follow. "Straight To Your Face" is a metal fist-pumping anthem, featuring the trademark growls of vocalist Jamey Jasta. Songs such as "Another Day, Another Vendetta" feature skillful and distinct guitar riffs that have helped place this band in a league of their own in the hardcore scene. In this time of lyrics about breaking up and failed relationships, Hatebreed has created a 32 minute album featuring lyrics about life and it's experiences. By the time the last track "Confide In No One" concludes you will find yourself relating to the lyrics as I have! It's for that reason that I think fans of punk rock and hardcore in general should give "The Age of Brutality" a chance.
