Nerf Herder have made a return with a collection of pop-punk tracks that have been recorded over the past few years. The album, My E.P was released two years ago, but was unavailable after the record company it was released on, was disbanded. Now, the album has been re-released including 3 songs and one bonus track. The 6 original songs were also remixed due to the bands' unhappiness with their quality. For those of you who don't know the sounds of Nerf Herder, they are comparable to a mix between The Dead Milkmen and Blink182 with less whiny lyrics. The songs are simple, with childish and unemotional lyrics, but that's just how it was meant to be. The album opens up with "Hotel California," and no, it's not that song by The Eagles. By the time I got to track three, "High School," I was sick of the singer's voice and sick of hearing about girls and school. However, track four, "Bridge Under Troubled Water," was refreshing and regained my attention. Track 5, "Sportsman Bar" was just a joke. I'm not sure how you can attempt to take this band seriously by the time you get to tracks 6 and 7, "I've Got a Boner For Christmas" and "Fight For Your Right To Masturbate." All in all, this is a stellar pop punk album, but it's not much of anything else. I'd listen to this album when in need of a good laugh.
