Rising to the occasion... "Rise Against" has put together one hell of a Sophmore album for Fat. This band has made a name for themselves in many ways. Not only being such a diverse band on the Fat roster but by also treading water in an ocean of sinking emo-core/hardcore bands. The album moves quicker than a blink of the eye and the band wastes no time expressing their views and conveying their beliefs. With clear old school influences such as Bad Brains, the band has taken their roots and created a sound reminiscent to no one. Exploding with track one "Black Masks & Gasoline", the band takes no time in alerting the listener to what's coming. "Revolutions Per Minute" is such a fitting title for the album, because it wastes no time and the songs flow so freely. Tim's voice on tracks like "Dead Ringer" and "Like The Angel" help make this band what it has become. Unlike a lot of the bands on Fat (in my opinion) at least Rise Against has taken what they built in "The Unraveling" and put together an album in "Revolutions Per Minute" that shows true growth and depth compared to their previous release.
