First impression... the wagon is back. Lagwagon's infectious yet catchy melodies continue to be enjoyed and savored just as they have through the years. It's thirteen years and smoking for the wagon and "Blaze" is a step in the continous direction of punk rock goodness for these guys. The most enjoyable aspect I have found with Lagwagon is their myriad of melodies and the trademark vocals of Mr. Joey Cape. All five years it took to record Blaze have obviously been worth it, making quite the difference in the quality and production of the album. "Burn" the first track starts off suprisingly slow but I knew the guys had something down their pants, or up their sleeves. The tempo quickly changes into the fast paced punk rock the band has helped put their unique stamp on. The rest of the album is filled with continuous catchyness like "E Dagger", "Dinner and A Movie", and "I Must Be Hateful" which is sure to be a favorite amongst the readers. This album is incredibly easy on the ear drums and I think many will share that opinion of these punk rock seniors.
