The 80's esque metal breakdowns incorporated into "Drunken Violence" make for one hell of a record. For all of you punks that are used to hearing lyrics about girls and relationships, you should look elsewhere. Fall Silent's speeding choruses will run you down, and their lyrics consists of anthems touching on the subjects of self-empowerment, war, and skateboarding. The mixture of hardcore, punk, and most interestingly death metal, keeps you on your feet for all fourty minutes of this record. Fall Silent has no problem keeping the listener guessing on this album. You go from listening to "Flowers For Whores" to "Seven Plies" which consists of a totally different style. Music may have an uncertain future, but with bands like Fall Silent the future will consist of a lot of exploration into the hardcore, death metal, punk rock genre. "Drunken Violence" hits stores on April 23.
