This is Dashboard Confessional's second EP in barely 5 months time… nice going! Well, maybe it wasn't that much work, after all, these are all re-recorded versions from four songs off the first full length album "Swiss Army Romance". There's "Living In Your Letters", "The Sharp Hint Of New Tears", "Turpentine Chaser" and "Ender Will Save Us All" to be exact. Drums and bass have been incorporated in the new versions, which worked out great, especially "The Sharp Hint Of New Tears" could use a good makeover. And for the first time so far, a guitar distortion effect comes into play ("Ender Will Save Us All"), and that actually sounds sorta refreshing. "Summer's Kiss" doesn't give me shivers up my spine like "The Places…" did. Something's missing, but I can't put my finger on it. Is it because these songs ain't new? Most likely, yes - but Chris' voice sounds quite different, less dramatic, and maybe that bothers me a little.
