Break through album of the year! A band forming in 2001 in nasty old New Jersey, and being signed to Doghouse isn't the run of the mill situation. The majority of The Break are recycled from the band Radar Mercury who used to occupy a spot on the Doghouse roster, while the singer John fronted The Purpose (a melodic hardcore band also from New Jersey). Their music is simple, it's precise, and they have found a way to play punk rock in a way many bands wish they knew how. The Break combine a perfect blend of rhythm and melody that when mixed with an effortless pace make for some amazing tracks. The Break's s/t Doghouse debut is one where you can sit back, listen, and not have to even think about it. The songs are ever flowing and once the cd ends at 32:35 you'll want to give it another spin.
