I never expect anything less than from a Drive Thru band than the kind of music that makes you want to get up and sing along. Homegrown's new album certainly doesn't dissapoint nor will it shock any of their fans who have been around since Wussapaning, That's Business or Act Your Age. It's what they've all been waiting for, its the humor, energy and emotions of all of their previous attempts combined, properly produced (apparently this album cost a hell of a lot to make and the guys singed one of the biggest indie contracts ever) and tweeked so perfectly that you can't help but love it. Now if you're not a fan of boy bands singing about girls they like this isn't the album for you. Many of the songs do have to do with the traditional boy wanting the girl or missing the girl, etc. etc. type of situations. But that's not bad, in fact it only makes this album more endearing. Who doesn't want to listen to something that they can relate to or that will make them feel like they're not the only ones? And you do get your fill of distorted guitar, bass and drums. The only problem with this album is that it may be too much like those songs on Blink 182's albums and in a couple of years these guys may blow up and little girls will sell out their shows. Overall for a band that has had so many changes in terms of their line up, they have managed to keep their sound strong and consistent with what they have always been known and loved for. Just listen to "Tomorrow" and you'll understand exactly what I mean.
