This adds to the disappointing year Vagrant is having (in my opinion). "Sorry About Tomorrow" by Hot Rod Circuit was the only descent release to come out of the Vagrant camp this year. I feel "How To Ruin Everything" by Face To Face and "Stereo/Mono" by Paul Westerberg was the beginning of the badness. Last year featured outstanding albums by Alkaline Trio, No Motiv, and Saves The Day. No it's onto "On A Wire". What's missing from "On A Wire" is the energy we heard in a song like "10 Minutes" or "Action and Action". The new album is so mellow that, by the time the thirteenth track "Hannah Hold On" is played you're sturggeling to hold on. This isn't to say that there are no good tracks on the entire album. The accoustic tracks "Overdue" and "Hannah Hold On" are great tracks, but it just seems likt the GUK's are focusing on a new rock equation. No matter how much I don't like "On A Wire" compared to The Get Up Kid's previous releases, those who really dig the new Anniversary should check it out. If you want to hear The Monkees and The Beatles try to form an emo band, "On W Wire Is For You"!
