Preventing this compilation from recieving one star are some great unreleased tracks by Alkaline Trio "Jaded On Green Beers", Rival Schools "On Vacations", Autopilot Off "Long Way To Fall", Madcap "Bight Lights, Big City", Mighty Mighty Bosstones "Sugar Free" (off their upcoming album), and a live version of Jimmy Eat World's "Praise Chorus" recorded in London. Other highlights are songs that have already been released including Avoid One Thing's "Yakisoba", Ameircan Nightmare "am/pm", and Midtown "Find Comfort in Yourself". Now that the highlights of the Atticus "Dragging The Lake" comp have been discussed it's time to shine the light on the "I wish they weren't on this compilation" tracks. I don't want to sound like the Grinch, but New Found Glory's "Ex-Miss" just didn't do it for me. It's gotta be something about thinking about Christmas is July. Every description of Box Car Racer I heard was horrible, but I decided to listen to "Tiny Voices" with an open mind. I fear this side project by Tom and Travis of Blink 182 is heading for the side of a mountain. It's literally unbearable. Is it supposed to be the "emo" version of Blink 182? If you are longing to hear Tom of Blink 182 whine to the lyrics of "Tiiiiiiiiiiny Voices.... Tiiiiiiiiiiiny Voices" then track number ten is for you. Then there's Simple Plan's "I'd Do Anything" featuring vocals from Mark Hoppus. I don't know if that's a highlight or not, but I'll leave that up to the listener to find out. Overall the good tracks out number the bad and you can look for other already released tracks by Finch "Post Script", The Movielife "Walking On Glass", and Slick Shoes "Friday Night". If you're an Alkaline Trio fan, by all means spend the money on the compilation just to hear "Jaded On Green Beers". I heard them play it live, and it doesn't get old.
