Why are the Swedish people so good at every genre of music they try? Metal, Indie, Electronica, etc. Of course, we already knew they had a good handle on classic pop-punk when Randy came out. Now, Down and Away continue this proud tradition of Swedish music being awesome by releasing Reclaim the Radio.
Reclaim the Radio channels that classic East Bay pop-punk sound similar to the early days of Rancid when they were still producing good records or the last two records from Boston natives Ringers. Reclaim the Radio take that stagnant sound and breathe some new life into it via a passion that you don't find much in pop-punk these days.
At ten years old, Down and Away are a band that know what they want to do and are doing it better than 90% of the bands in this genre today. Reclaim the Radio is quite simply one of the best classic pop-punk records to come out in years. If they can keep this quality of release up through out their tenure as a band, then we could be looking the next great pop-punk band. Don't let this great release fly under the radar. Pick it up, make your friends pick it up, make your friends' friends pick it up, and make strangers on the street pick it up. Everyone should own this record.
