I absolutely hate when a good band puts out a record with absolutely awful artwork. If you can't think of anything good to put on the cover of an album, don't just slap a disproportionate turtle with a mountain on it's back on there. Instead, maybe go the Spinal Tap route and just make it black or another solid color.

That being said, Robots and Empire's Omnivore is a pretty decent. Heavy stoner metal with some space rock influence that comes out something like a Sabbath/Cave-In cross [Note: I took that comparison from the press release only because it seemed the most appropriate.]. The album gets a bit poppier as it progresses, taking a little from Justin Broaderick's work with Jesu.

There aren't enough bands in metal today putting out albums this interesting and drawing from as many sources as Robots and Empire do on Omnivore. These guys are definitely already getting the recognition they deserve opening for so many influential acts like Converge, Cave-In, Mastadon, Municipal Waste, Torche, etc.

If you're looking for something new and have even a slight passing interest in hearing some metal with a little more to offer than pig squeals and double bass, you have a good friend in Robots and Empire's Omnivore.
