This is the seventh volume of the Take Action! Collection, which has two purposes. The first one "continues Hopeless/Sub City's belief in offering fans the best value for the lowest price possible" and the second purpose, as stated by Andy of Every Time I Die in a PSA at the start of the record is to encourage people to start getting involved with causes they care about.
This new volume includes new songs by From First to Last, Every Avenue and The Matches. The bands that really stand out are From First to Last - who I believe have gotten better since Sonny quit - as well as Chiodos and Cute is What We Aim For. It seems that over time, these bands have gotten better than, say on their first records. This compilation is a good chance for a lot of them to show off their new chops with new or recent material.
Not only is this a good sampler of all the pop-punk bands who are popular now, it's also a good chance for many people to start becoming involved with various charitable causes. The fact that several of these bands sound alike doesn't really matter because this compilation is just a showcase for these bands to show that they are interested in giving back.
Some of these songs are definitely some of these bands' best, including "Digital Sea" by Thrice (which is by far one of the best they've ever done), "Two As One" by From First to Last and "Teeth the Size of Piano Keys" by Chiodos. For fans of all these bands, then this and the other volumes will be the perfect place to hear your favorite band and maybe hear a few more they've never heard before and along the way, find a charity you're interested in.
