Dave Grohl implores Metallica not to release their new album unless it "kicks ass." Letter from Dave: Hey, it's Dave! Remember me? Yeah, I'm the guy that's been listening to your band faithfully since 1983. I bought your first album 'Kill 'Em All' from a mail order catalogue called Under The Rainbow, I think. Actually I can't remember. It was 1983 for Christsakes! But that album changed my life and I've been listening to your albums ever since (even 'St Anger'!). I can't wait to hear the new shit, and no matter what you guys do I'll always be first one at the shop waiting to hear it. I'm sure you'll come out and blow everybody's fuckin' minds, because you're fuckin' METALLICA! Good luck. And don't release it until it's kick-ass.

Yours, Dave Grohl.

P.S. Are you finished recording the drums yet?

CD I remember they shot a video from St-Anger in Montréal. So I respect them for that.
Dose'nt make the album sound better though...

Maybe Dave Grohl could write the album for them :-)

Shipwreck Well if it was up to me they wouldn't release it cause it's going to suck regardless of whos producing it! Leave it it the counterparts Megadeth to release the second good record since the early 90's. Metallica's last good one came out in 86 way over 20 years ago. Dave may be a christian, but at least he's put out good records after 86! May 10, 2008
