Posted by Stian Sævrøy on Jan 7, 2010 3:17 AM

The Deftones have now set an April 27th release date for their as-yet untitled new album. The effort was recorded with producer Nick Raskulinecz (Trivium, Shadows Fall) and features bass tracks done by Sergio Vega, the current replacement for ailing bassist Chi Cheng. Cheng has been sidelined by a car accident that took place in November of 2008.

In a new interview with Noisecreep, band frontman Chino Moreno described the album as reminiscent of “Around The Fur” and “White Pony“. He also mentioned that the band plan to begin touring in support of it in February.

Other topics addressed in the interview include the condition of Cheng, and the...

Interview with Sascha Lazor lead guitarist of the Mad Caddies on November 20 at Reggies in Chicago, IL

By: Amy Meyer

PB: So you guys are on tour right now, but you don’t have a new record out; why did you decide to go on a headlining tour?

SL: Most of the shows on the tour were in Canada. We did just two on the West Coast, but a majority of the shows were the East Coast and Canada. We haven’t been there in 2 years and we had taken a year off. We did a European tour in the summer and we figured we would do one of these just to get back into the swing of playing. We’re working on new songs. Technically, it’s not really touring on our last...

Dine Alone - Rare Stuff

Posted by Carsten on Dec 18, 2009 10:07 AM

In the Dine Alone office we have a large black cabinet of stuff, a vault of goodies if you will. What is in this vault you ask? Well, while I can’t tell you about all of it, I can say that if you stole the key and broke into the vault, you would unlock a Pandora’s box of tunes. We decided that instead of keeping all this goodness locked away, we would develop a monthly Dine Alone series. This series has been branded the Dine Alone Digital 45’s.

Volume 1 City and Colour - Against the Grain (Live @ XM's Six Shooter House) Attack in Black - Come What May (Live @ XM's Six Shooter House)

Volume 2 Arkells - Pullin' Punches (Live @ XM's Six Shooter House) Sleepercar - A Broken Promise (Live @ XM's Six Shooter House)

Alkaline Trio Title New Album

Posted by Carsten on Dec 3, 2009 12:11 PM

According to a Rock Sound report, Alkaline Trio have set a title for their forthcoming album and first release through a new partnership with Epitaph Records. The record will be called This Addiction. Co-vocalist Matt Skiba had this to say: It is the first song on the record and the title of our new album.

The song takes heroin addiction as a metaphor for love. The whole record is really personal, all three of us have been through quite a bit since our last album [2008's 'Agony & Irony'] and it is all expressed through this, all the songs are about the relationships we've been in and so the record has a constant theme.
