Best Records of the year:

1. Dropkick Murphy's - The Meanest Of Times

Great album from start to finish.

2. A Wilhelm Scream - Career Suicide

Always been a fan and this album was just what I expected and more!

3. Streetlight Manifesto - Somewhere in the Between

My favorite ska band with another amazing album.

4. MXPX - Secret Weapon

First band I ever bought an album from. I was disappointed with a lot of their recent releases, but this one felt like the MXPX I knew and loved.

5. Poison The Well - Versions

This album surprised me with being this good.

Worst Records of the year:

1. Angels And Airwaves - I, Empire

Tom...oh Tom. Turn it off. Turn it off. Stop it. STOP IT!!!!!!

2. Paramore - Riot!

A hot lead singer doesn't mean good music.

3. Fall Out Boy - Infinity On High

This band is a result of music trends. They aren't punk. They are pop with power chords.

4. Avenged Sevenfold - Avenged Sevenfold

I can't be the only one who doesn't like this album. I'm not insane, I'm not insane, I'm not insay-e-ay-e-ane!

5. Good Charlotte - Good Morning Revival

Throw this album in the river, no matter what you say I know it didn't deliver. Still not my anthem.

Biggest Dissapointments of 2007:

1. Blaqk Audio - Cex Cells

Davey, what the hell are you doing? Remeber when you wanted to be in a hardcore band? What are you doing?

2. Thrice - The Alchemy Index

What happened guys? You used to be awesome, and now all you are is a series of concepts without any hint of what you used to be.

3. Coheed And Cambria - No World For Tomorrow

I hate this band.

4. Dir En Grey - The Marrow of a Bone

Japanese shock rock that is still not nearly as cool a GWAR and will never be anything more than that noise all my anime friends will blast during LAN parties.

5. The Starting Line - Direction

The definition of disappointment.

Biggest Revelations of 2007:

1. The Bled - Silent Treatment

Wasn't really much build up to this album, but when I heard it, I was very impressed.

2. Strung Out - Blackhawks Over Los Angeles

I found it a perfect mix of Strung Out from the past and Strung Out now. Good punk songs and some heavy parts thrown in.

3. The Locust - New Erections

Didn't know where they were going to go with this album, especially after Safety Second, Body Last, which wasn't exactly what I wanted from them, but this album was amazing and I listened to it for a good month and half straight after getting it.

4. The Fall of Troy - Manipulator

Didn't think I would like this album but I did for the sheer diversity within every song.

5. Gob - Muertos Vivo

Didn't know when their new album was gonna come out, and when it did, was amped, impressed, and estatic!

Most Anticipated For 2008:

Anti-Flag - Bright Lights of America

Dillinger Four - CIVILWAR (if it is still that or ever coming out)

Alkaline Trio - TBA

Pennywise - Free For The People

Propaghandi -TBA

Sick Of It All - TBA

The Adolescents - TBA

Glassjaw - TBA

Rancid -TBA

Social Distortion - TBA

User Comments

william_david Nice choices. I really love Streetlight and the new album is good, but I don't think it's quite as solid as the first. Jan 13, 2008
